Group Managing Director, DDB Mudra Group
While he wears the hat of the Group MD, at heart Aditya Kanthy is still the excited strategist that he started off as. He has been an integral part of the transformation journey of the agency from India’s most successful independent advertising agency to a much-coveted marketing communications group that eventually became a part of the Omnicom Group.
In the fifteen years with the group, he has helped build some of India’s most loved and trusted brands including Johnson & Johnson (J&J), Mars-Wrigley and Volkswagen. He has also led winning pitches for Nestle, Yamaha, Adidas, Emirates and Twitter.
Featured in Businessworld magazine’s cover story on the ‘best and brightest’ in Indian advertising, he has contributed to building the agency’s reputation for creativity and effectiveness. With wins at the Effies across categories including healthcare & digital, he led the DDB Mudra Group from virtual absence to a run of top three positions three years in a row at the pre-eminent advertising effectiveness award in the industry.
He has also served as a jury at the Effies and the International AME (Advertising and Marketing Effectiveness) awards.
Aditya studied Economics in St. Stephen’s, Delhi and graduated at the top of his class from the MICA, India’s finest marketing communications school – where he specialized in research. He is now a guest lecturer at MICA. He has also led a global Omnicom Group presentation on the Evolving Indian Consumer to the CEOs and CMOs of the Tata Group, one of India’s largest and most respected conglomerates.
A long-suffering fan of the Indian cricket team and Arsenal football club, he eases the pain with a good book, a run along the beach and time with his young family.
