Battlegrounds Mobile India - Game Responsibly
‘Overgaming’ is a problem that affects the mental health and wellbeing of young gamers. To combat this, Battlegrounds Mobile India implemented responsible gaming practices like OTP parental control, three-hour game time limits, and daily spending caps; becoming the world’s first mobile game to do so. But to get gamers to acknowledge the problem of excessive gaming, we used a light-hearted approach.
Using familiar in-game sounds as a metaphor for over-gaming, we showed how excessive gaming habits can play on the impressionable minds of young gamers even when they’re offline. They could also be annoying to those around them. By raising awareness and highlighting BGMI’s in-game measures to curb excessive gaming, we saw an astounding shift in perception, won the trust of 4 million parents, and got people to acknowledge BGMI as a responsible gaming title.
