Inspired by the legacy of Phyllis Robinson, DDB’s first creative copy chief, the Phyllis Project is empowering women to break barriers and lead the industry.

Recently, @campaignindiateam spoke to Vanaja Pillai, Head of DEI, DDB Mudra Group, to discuss the significant strides taken by the Phyllis Project in fostering a culture of inclusion in the advertising landscape. The project provides practical training, tailored mentorship, access to industry stalwarts and community support to address the long-standing gender gap in leadership roles.

Other supporters of the project including Roisin Rooney (Global CPO, DDB Worldwide), Nicole Taylor (SVP, The Lego Group), and Toru Jhaveri (Founder, The Stuff of Life) also spoke freely about mentorship, building a community and skill based training taking into account unseen factors in helping women grow in their careers.

Last week, we had an awesome session with 22feet Tribal at GiftAbled, an organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities. Shivanandan and Viswamoulie, the UI/UX pros, shared their secrets on crafting standout resumes and staying ahead of the design curve.

The session brought together an in-person and virtual audience of young people with disabilities, eager to learn and grow in their careers. The group walked away feeling inspired and equipped with new skills.

We went…big for @flipkart Big Billion Days.

While the price of iPhone during BBD has been #IndiasBiggestSecret, this year we told just 100 people in all of India about it! Because there are deals, and then there are deals so good, you don’t just get them - you have to be lucky enough to receive them. Cue the rest of the country making not-so-pleasant calls to get the deal!

On the other hand, showing a TV to announce Flipkart’s Big Billion Day deals on TV was too obvious. So, we flipped the script! Instead, we created an experience that showed off what Flipkart offers - convenience. And what’s more convenient (and satisfying) than shopping for a TV from the comfort of your own couch?

There were some outstanding portfolios on display, and new ideas going off like fireworks. The energy that filled the room, one of pure unfiltered creativity, cannot be explained with words.

Sukanya Aggarwal and Udo Döhler Neto (@udodn) had the best portfolios at this year’s Portfolio Night (physical and virtual). They will team up with winners from other cities at Portfolio Night All-Stars to work on a global brief, virtually. Congratulations! 👏👏👏
